Westbury Music Fair
The Rascals & John Cafferty are making their way to the Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair on Saturday, December 20th. If you're looking to spend a "Groovy" Christmas, this could be a way to do just that! Since 2022 two original members of the band, or the "Young Rascals" as they were known at one point have been touring the country singing all of the hits from the original. At this stop in Westbury New York they're bringing John Cafferty along for the ride.
He's not likely going to serve as a traditional opening act. Instead, what we're going to get is a mix of John Cafferty tracks and some from the original Rascals with Felix Cavaliere and Gene Cornish (The Rascals) all sharing the stage. Anyway you look at it, this is the type of show that thrives inside that circle stage here at the Westbury Music Fair. "A Beautiful Morning" and "People Gotta Be Free" are two of the singles that people associate with this band the most. The truth is, the majority of their music library is filled with good vibes and feel-good tracks. That's just not something that you're going to be able to experience with modern performers. Then you've got the circled stage playing a role! These guys are going to want to get up close and personal with the audience. If you're in the front rows, you might be asked up on stage. This performance is like a warm hug, and that might just be what you need a week away from Christmas.
Keep in mind that Felix Cavaliere and Gene Cornish are the only 2 Rascals who are going to be taking the stage. That's why for most of their appearances, they bring guest stars, usually musicians from that same 60s era with similar feel-good vibes. It wouldn't make too much sense to begin with the show with a heavy rock set, would it? What you're in line to experience are never-before-seen renditions of John Cafferty songs featuring Felix Cavaliere and Gene Cornish. Expect some harmonica sounds to fill the air at some point. This possibility is certainly enough to get people to flock to Westbury Music Fair right before the holidays!
This one is always tough because what you don't want to do is get stuck behind the band the entire night. If this is something that scares you, then maybe pick a seat in an elevated position. That way, even if you're behind the band, you'll have a full view of the show without drum sets and other elements blocking your view.
