Besides the U.S. and Canada, the song also entered the charts in four other countries. After his phenomenal breakthrough, Anak dropped several more hits, such as “I Love You, Baby,” “You Are My Destiny,” “Crazy Love,” and more. In 1959, he dropped his first number 1 hit, “Lonely Boy.” The song, recorded with the accompaniment of Don Costa’s orchestra, was featured in the film Girls Town. Upon reaching number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the song stayed at the top for four weeks.
This was followed by another successful hit song, “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” which reached number 2 on the chart.
