American traditional pop singer, pianist, composer and record producer Neil Sedaka began his career in the 1950s as a member of doo-wop group The Tokens, who had a 1961 hit with their chart-topping single, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". As both a solo artist and songwriter, Sedaka has sold hundreds of millions of records, having written or co-written over 500 songs either for himself or other artists. His first hit was with Connie Francis' rendition of “Stupid Cupid”, but it was 1959's “Oh! Carol” that brought him recognition as an artist in his own right. Some of Sedaka's number one hits include: "One-Way Ticket to the Blues", "Calendar Girl", "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do", "La terza luna", "Star-Crossed Lovers", "Laughter in the Rain", "The Immigrant", "Bad Blood" and "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do". His most recent studio album is 2016's I Do It For the Applause.
