American singer-songwriter Dion was one of the most popular American rock and roll performers of the pre-British Invasion era. Beginning his music career in 1957 as a singer for Mohawk Records, Dion went on to have thirty nine Top Forty hits throughout the late 1950s and early ’60s, either as a solo artist, with the Belmonts, or with the Del-Satins. He is best known for the hits “Runaround Sue”, “The Wanderer”, “Ruby Baby” and “Lovers Who Wander”. Dion’s music enjoyed a resurgence in the late 1960s, and he was incucted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.
